Re: To Dues or Not to Dues

My troop charges a ONE TIME joining fee of $25 which covers
registration, Boys' Life, insurance for the first year plus some for
advancement.

We have 3 fund raising activities. One goes entirely into the camping
account of each participating Scout, another (Popcorn) gets split between
camping accounts and general treasury by some complicated
formula, the third goes entirely to general treasury.

>From this we pay recharter fees and buy camping equipment. Scouts
pay activity fees and for food as needed on each outing. There is no
dues (weekly, monthly, or annual).

The only thing I'm unhappy with is that not all Scouts participate in
fund raising. So next year I will propose an annual $25 fee for any
Scout that does not contribute to the fund raising events.
