Re: Troop Money

The post by David Ball brought up an interesting point. How do
different troops handle petty cash issues? Is there any sort of fund
that the SM can dip into for small items (ie 6-pack of soda for the
PLC, or a half-dozen copies of something for the adult leaders)
without needing a trail of paper a mile long?
For the year I was SM, I was fortunate that one family gave me money
to use in such a manner, without any strings attached. If memory
serves me right, I used $75-100 of that money on various things in a
year. The reason the family gave me the money was because they knew I
was a graduate student on a (fairly) tight budget. My impression is
that in the past all of those expenses have just come out of the SM's
pocket. Is this true in other people's experience? How about in
cases where the SM's finances are particularly tight?
