WB and Webeloree update

Angel Rhett (arhett@VIPERLINK.NET)

I wanted to thank all of you for your encouragment and ideas for me to get
to WB. It is Cub WB....and I am really excited. I talked to our DE this
weekend and I think I can come up with the deposit in Jan. He told me I
shouldn't have a problem if that was so.....if I find I can't I will talk to
him....he has worked closely with me for a few years and I know he would
like to help me get there (or should I say I *think* he would! LOL)

A few have reminded me about permissive TDY's.....unfortunately my husband
(our CC) is the active duty....I left active duty about 11 years
ago...fortunately I have my own business from home, so I can take the time off.

As for the WEbeloree....it was an unqualified success.....we had 13 of our
boys come out...they all behaved wonderfully....learned a lot of good
things...and enjoyed themselves.

We also earned the Polar Bear award, which in our region is not all that
easy to earn. It was 24 degrees on Friday night. BRRRRRR!!
The bad part is I am very sick now.....but I think in the long run it is
worth it.

We won best campsite and we sang a song at the campfire that another leader
and I wrote in about 15 minutes...it was to the tune of Rudolph the Red
Nosed Reindeer. The boys must have really liked it, because after singing
it twice they knew it by heart.

My husband and I are now going to be on staff for our spring Webeloree....I
can't wait. Our district has our Bears come out for the weekend also, so
they can see what they get to do as Webelos. We should have a big group
from my pack.

Thanks for listening to me. I think I will go take some more medicine and
lie down now. But before I do I wanted to thank whoever (can't remember who
right now) sent the Christmas story out about the brother and sister. My
keyboard was covered in tears (I'm an old softy!) and I passed it on to many
of my friends....it is very easy to forget what it is all about when the
crowds are large and often rude.

YIS,

Angel Rhett
