Well, the time has come.
It is with great pride that I announce that Eric Moss of Troop 427 and
Portland Police Explorer Post 927 will receive his Eagle Scout rank at a
Court of Honor on Friday, December 19.
Eric is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, holds the 50 miler
and Silver Marmot hiking awards, the Mile Swim Award and is a BSA Life
Guard. He has over 175 nights camping, 200+ miles backpacking and 400+
miles cycling (one long trip!) in Scouting. He served on the volunteer
staff at Camp Baldwin for two years. He helped with the District Webelos
Woods for four years and was the Senior Patrol Leader for that event in
1995.
His service project consisted of organizing the re-roofing a large
neighborhood bus shelter with cedar shake shingles. The shelter was
originally built as an Eagle Project about 35 years ago by a Scout in our
Troop.
Eric is currently a Freshman Law Enforcement major at Western Oregon
University. He decided to delay his Eagle Court until the holiday season
when his brother (also an Eagle) and many friends would be home.
I would be happy to pass along congratulations and print them for his Court.
Proud Double Eagle Papa!
