Tom Heavey asked us all:

Put it in a display box, and place it in the lobby of your chartered
organization along with information about when your unit meets and where.
Also place in there "This is the outward sign of a successful Scout. The
badge can be purchased, as this one was. However, the skills, knowledge,
service and leadership development learned by those holding this badge can
never be bought or sold. By becoming a member or supporting our Troop, you
are developing quality strong citizens of character; and assisting us in
providing some 11-18 year olds some real fun and adventure in the process!"
Hopefully, the *owner* of that Eagle Scout Badge will come along and will
eventually say "That's *my* badge". Sometimes, even Eagle Scouts get
desperate.....I just wished that someone asked *him* about it before he
sold/pawned it (you realize that most pawn shops only give you one-quarter
to one-third of the worth of the medal; the Eagle Badge sells at that time
for $9.25, so he didn't get much for it)!
There's a chapter from "Patches and Pins" that's appropriate here, but I'll
wait until later on this evening to post it; I've got to go with my honies
to the Walmart!! *grinning*
