This is not unusual. I have found over the years that by the time the young
men get to college they have gotten over most of their embarrassment of
being a Scout. Also, when they arrive on a new campus, in a strange
situation, they are looking for something that they have in common with
their fellow students.

It is not unusual for the Eagle certificate or the Vigil Honor certificate
to be hung prominently in dorm rooms. There they create the inevitable "Oh,
you're an Eagle Scout too" type of comment and create an instant bond
between strangers.
