Most of you saw Kelley Parker's question last spring about the
possibility of districts being merged in our Council. In June,
we found out that this was indeed true, and Thunderbird and
Far-West Districts of the Grand Canyon Council would be merged
into one district.

For the last few months, we have called the new district "No
Name", as we have had _no_ official name. Well, that changed
last night. We have a name, and it was officially announced.

We are now officially known as Firebird District. Some of us
are having a bit of fun with the new name, and pronouncing it
"far bird". There are rumors that _that_ will be the official
pronounciation of the name. Just thought I'd fill you in.

YiS,

Chuck Bramlet, ASM Troop 323
Firebird District, Grand Canyon Council, Phoenix, Az.

I "used to be" an Antelope! (and a good ol' Antelope, too...) WEM-10-95
