I agree with calvin, what is so important that you can't stand one
chorus of "announcements, announcement, announcements, a terrible way to
die, a terrible way to talk to death, a terrible way to die" ?? or are
we not talking about the same thing? In the last 20 years I have seen
the fun quotient of summer camp go down, down, down, part of it is it is
harder to get and keep good staff at bargain prices - and don't anybody
tell me that that 17 year old eagle scout at any minimum wage summer job
can't make more !! Another reason is that we don't SING anything
anymore, not even the announcement song! That's one of the reasons I
enjoyed Odyessey staff so much, they as a group were not afraid to look
"uncool" and they made their own fun whenever things got slow! We need
more spirit in scouting not less!!!
