I think that *all* MBs lend thimselves to parent counselors *IF* (huge
'if') the parent knows the subject. A parent who is a doctor would make
a good counselor for Medicine. If he plays golf regularly, he could
counsel the Golf MB. The point is that the counselor must know the
subject which he counsels.

Again, we determine that based upon the individual's occupation or
hobbies. For instance, I'm a helicopter pilot. I counsel Aviation. I
studied music in college for several years. I also counsel the Music
MB. We have another ASM who is a truck driver. He works with the boys
who want to earn Truck Transportation. Another ASM has been a certified
EMT. He works on First Aid.

Yeah, I've seen that too. It's wrong. Here is a quote from the
Advancement Policies and Procedures Committee Guide:

"There is no restriction or limit on the number of merit badges a an
individual may be approved to counsel for.

There is no limit on the number of merit badges aScout may earn from one
counselor.

An approved merit badge counselor may counsel any Scout, including his
or her own son, ward, or relative."
