At the Canadian Jamboree, our activity director produced a wide variety of
fun iron-ons for the staff to put on tee shirts. We did "staff" and CJ'97
logos and waterfront activity logos. We gave extras to the Scouts who went
through our event and arranged for them to come back in the evening when we
had an iron hooked up.
The shirts I made up have held up nicely through a number of washings
already. I don't have a feel for the long term yet, but so far, so good.
I suspect that they will not hold up like screen printing, but for
convenience, quick response time to produce, as a way to get Scouts
involved, etc, this is a good idea.
As to the other printers, probably. The key is the special paper that has
the glue that makes the water based inks permanent.
