Jan asked:
>Which side of the foil do you put against the food? The "dull"
>side or the "shiny side"? My mother, who had chemical sensitivities told
>me that the "dull" side contains the processing chemicals >(formaldehyde).
Is this correct?
Jessica (my honies and from the Eat-L list as well as this one) says:
"The things you ask, Mike Walton......okay...the dull side toward the food
if you're cooking in an oven; the shiny side toward the food if you're
cooking over a fire."
She didn't know anything about any chemicals, but that's relatively easy to
remedy...just wash the dull side before you put it against the foods!
Hey! What do *I* know, anyways???? I still eat those great Banquet Chicken
Pot pies, and sometimes forget that foil don't go well with the microwave!
*hehehee* (hey, do you hear sparking?? Smell smoke??
Maybe it's done!! *laughter*
Seriously, for those that are not aware, do NOT place any aluminum-laced
item (that include plates and cups and eatingware) into a microwave oven!!
It will spark, arc and in some cases, start a fire. While I'm teasing here,
it only takes ONCE to destroy an entire kitchen or eating area!!
If you're in doubt, take the contents out of the original container and
place it on a paper plate or plastic bowl and "nuke it" at a low "setting".
