I regularly use a written test for the Computer Merit Badge. The
results of the test, however, are not used to determine if the boy will
earn the Merit Badge. The test is used as a basis for discussion,
normally in a group setting on "Merit Badge Saturday". The questions
vary from simple true/false, multiple choice, and simple essay.

Here are a few examples:

Herman Hollerith invented the punched card. What was it used for?

A spreadsheet is

        1. A robotic program for making beds
        2. A programming language translator
        3. A database with calculating abilities
        4. A typographic design program

If you bought a copyrighted computer game program, would it be legal for
you to make a copy of if for a friend?

        1. Yes
        2. No


If yes, why?       If no, why not?

Which of the following can be sent over a computer network?

        1. Electronic mail
        2. Programs
        3. Pictures
        4. Voice messages
        5. Videos
        6. Databases
        7. Jolt soda

So far, only one person had "failed" the test.  He had never looked at
the book.
