Re: Roundtable Items

Steven:

The one 'spark' that makes our Southern MD cubscout roundtable tick is the
use of award beads. When a person attends for the first time, they receive
a leather floure de lis (3"x3")stamped with "Southern Maryland Roundtable"
with a button hole slot to attach to the uniform pocket button. Attached
to this is a leather thong to hold the beads. The roundtable awards a
different bead each month for:
-attendance
-new attendee sponsor
-coming in costume appropriate to the theme
-attendance by three or more people from the same pack in different
break-out sessions
-bringing copy paper for use for handouts

It adds to the interest and is a tangible reminder of your participation.
Another good thing is a filebox with pack mail in it. It has all the
training fliers, event fliers etc. in it in one place sorted by pack for
pick-up. Missing units could have it mailed to them. An additional
filebox is available with standard forms for use by the units. Everything
from advancement requirements to den forms to leader recognition
requirements are available.

Regards,

John Van Blarcom
