Canadian Jamboree - ADDENDUM

Oops! How could I have forgotten to mention it? (And this is not meant
to restart the recurring thread, just a statement of fact) Scouts Canada is
Coed! It's at the option of the individual Troop, I gather. Several years ago
the "integration" of Troops was authorized. While my estimate of female Scouts
at CJ might be in the range of 10-15%, at most, they got just as muddy and had
just as broad smiles as the boys. I suspect that it imposes an added or
different burden upon leaders, but raises the inter-gender respect. Probably,
each unit acts more like a family unit, and the concerns (as in life) are
between members of different "families". It would be interesting to hear from
the Canadian & Aussie, etc. how it works, by those who do it, and NOT the
politically charged should/shouldn't debate. The equivalent of GSUSA has
chosen not to go Coed.
