A few years ago. we had an unfortunate incident involving the parent's
failure to inform the leaders about a medication. The boy "overlooked"
it for several days, then suddenly realized that if he got home with
all those pills, his mother would kill him. So he took them all at
once.
Made for an interesting next several hours. The medical person at the
infirmary finally got out of the kid what he had done. We now have a
statement on the medical/permission form which states that _all_
medications the boy is taking _must_ be listed. If anyone questions
the policy, they are told the story (without names) and that it is to
protect the boy from incorrect self medication. That usually does the
job.
