Hello Scouts-L members,

Course members of Wood Badge course 92-36 were tasked with spreading the
word at various Roundtables of the excellent training opportunity that
will be available in September, in the Atlanta, GA area.

Herewith I quote the flyer that is being distributed by the course
participants.

The Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts of America and the participants and
staff of Wood Badge course 92-36 are proud to present

Showando '97 'The Outdoor Adventure'

Saturday, September 13, 1997 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

What is it? ShowAnDo is a day of outdoor fun and adventure involving
demonstration and hands-on learning so that adult leaders can "Deliver
the Promise" to their boys. Activities will include camping,
backpacking, cooking, orienteering, first aid, pioneering and wilderness
survival skills and what equipment is necessary or available for these
purposes.

In addition to the outdoor program, an indoor Resource center will
feature displays and information about many BSA programs as well as
various commercial outfitters and gear sellers. The Order of the Arrow
dance team will perform during lunch.

Who should attend? Every scouter, especially newer Scoutmasters and
Cubmasters, Troop and Pack Committee members, Webelos Leaders, and any
Boy or Cub Scout parent getting ready to do outdoor camping after a long
layoff or for the first time. Old hands should attend too, to see
what's new and brush up on old skills. Registration is limited to ADULT
SCOUTERS.

What does it cost? Early registration is only $12, if postmarked before
August 23rd. The fee rises to $15 afterward. Early preregistration
guarantees you willreceive a complete Program Resource Book, the
ShowAnDo pocket patch, and lunch. Walk-in and late registrations may
get their program materials on a delayed basis.

Where will it be held? Bert Adams Scout Reservation, south of Covington
Georgia. (maps are available)
