Dear Scouts-L

I just wanted to let all of you know how much I've benefited from being a
part of our electronic Roundtable that never ends.

In the last few years thanks to Scouts-L, I've

- designed a training on adult recognition awards.
- helped a Troop from 300+ miles away come to our council summer camp.
- begun to counsel a BSA Lone Scout in France on the Chemistry Merit Badge
and another BSA Lone Scout in Germany on the Citizenship in the Nation
Merit Badge both using e-mail.
- learned about Scouting in Australia, Italy, Brazil, and Zaire.
- found resources for training Merit Badge counselors, Boards of Review,
and Junior Leaders.
- used questions / problems / dilemmas from Scouts-L on advancement issues
as vicarious training for a new District Advancement Chair.
- helped a Girl Guide troop in Scotland have a traditional American
Thanksgiving dinner on their November campout.
- had a piece I wrote on "The Most Difficult Job in Scouting: New Parent"
published in the Tidewater (VA) Council bulletin.
- offered many prayers for Scouts and Scouters in distress.

Thanks Jon for providing us with this fellowship. Among the Native
Americans of the Pacific Northwest, a tradition emerged to recognize
special feats by a member of the group. The tribe would gather and someone
would climb to a high point and shout "Ya ha!" and the group would reply
"Hias Kalosh!" This would be repeated three times.

=46or our Scouts-L list owner/shepherd, I say to our world wide Cyber
Campfire "Ya ha!" =8A =8A =8A
