Dear Jon, and everyone on the list,
I just want to take a moment to thank all of you, and you in
particular, Jon, for Scouts-L. Jon, you may not even realize what an
impact this list has, but while I would have been a *good* leader and
scouter this year, I can proudly say that I am a *strong* leader, and so
much of that strength comes from the support on this list. Last
Oct.I became a wolf leader and was lost, didn't know how the BSA and Cub
Scouts was arranged, what to do, etc. I tied into the list last fall, and
have used so much from the list that I can't even begin to recount.
I have used songs, skits, and cheers in my den and pack meetings,
day camp and roundtable. I have gotten policy clarifications, site locations
for resources on the Web, and the "whaddaya do" advice for a hyper Webelo
with no adult along for our trip to the Yorktown (Thank you all Again! for
advice on that one!).
The best advice has come from the discussions, as there were many
times that I could head a problem off at the pass by knowing what to do
ahead of time, rather than just learning from Hard Knocks. Consequence? A
confident, enthusiastic, and happy scouter, me.
Couldn't have done it without you guys!
BTW, my day camp just finished (I was program director, and had
never even *been* to a Day Camp before...oh, foolish flounder) and the 175
boys and 80 staffers had a BLAST! and So did I!!!! And again, a large part
of that was in the resources that all of you shared with the list. Thanks
again!!! Going to take a nap now!
Thank you!
YIS
Lorie
