There is a National Den Award.
The requirements for the National Den Award are different from
the requirement for the den ribbon on the Summertime Pack Award.
The key to un-confusion is this: Once you know these are
two different and basicly independent awards, you see that the
requirements may be partly overlapping but are different. Both
awards are described in the Cub Scout Leader Book. (I'm not listing
the requirements because I don't have the book here and I don't
remember them precisely enough).
There is some mild confusion for the National Den Award because
it requires a full year program. To me it is NOT clear how many
months are required to qualify for a full year program.
(I'm not sure whether "full year" is defined by the pack or by
the calendar)
