Uh?
Up here in Canada we've had week-long camp for Cubs for the longest
time. Cubs from 8 through 10, not just those in their last year,
either. They do fine and we make sure that Cub camp is rather different
from Scout camp, but just spending a week away from home is not something
that takes away from Scout camp.
For instance, here in Quebec the Cubs stay in large canvas tents and eat
in a dining hall; on the other hand, at our provincial Scout camp, they
would camp outside in real tents and cook all their own food (no dining
hall here)... there is a large difference between the two types of camps.
