Re: Cub Scout Leader Basic Training

Hi all and Mike,

I'm interested in how you are ale to modify (add) to the training
syllabus. We tried last year to bring back some of the "program" elements
removed from the old training and were very rudely treated by a few of
the Pofessionals from council. One of the senior Professionals threated
to remove our Cub Training Chair over it. Togenerate a more useful
discussion; is anyone haveing any luck with the supplimental training?
These are those program pieces that were removed from the old training.
We can't get anyone to attend these extra sessions and have begun to
incorperate them into the Cub roundtable.
>From what I've heard National seems to be under the assumption that the
new Cub Leader training is working fine because "we haven't heard of any
problems from the council training committees". Well I know why. To quote
a meember of Baltimore Area Councils training committee " the committee
dosn't discuss Cub Leader training, we aremor concerned with Scoutmaster
Fundamnetals and Boy Scout Wood Badge". It's always amazing to me how
66% of the US scouting program keeps taking a back seat.
