Fellow Scouters I need some help from the combinded wisdom of the list.
I have met an Eagle Scout (adult) who has Cystic Fibrosis. It is clear
that he can't do all the physical activities that a troop does, BUT he
would like to get back into Scouting.
I have suggested the following as ways he could help the young men of our
future:
Merit Badge counselor for Disability Awareness (Who better to make to make
a point)
Merit Badge counselor for Computers (He loves and works with computers)
Troop Record Keeping (TroopMaster??)
He could also be the counselor/guide or whatever you would like to call him
for all the upcoming Eagle-wanna-be. Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.
I know how I feel about him and what he can add. What do you on the list
say? Would you want someone to assist your troop who is in this condition?
Do you have other suggestions of ways he can help?
As you may well know, Cystic Fibrosis has no cure...yet.
