Signaling and Signaling MB

I saw the remark made earlier that this MB had little relevance to
today's sodiety, as we have computers and cell phones and the like.
While I agree with that poster that the MB should have been updated
to include the newer types of communications, there is still a place
for Wig-Wag, morse code, semaphore, etc.
Most of the newer forms fo cummunications that made the old MB
obsloete are in the area that we call "high tech". For the most
part, high tech is dependant on the easy availablity of power
to run the computers, FAXes, and other. What happens to that
"superwhammerdine" computer that will answer your phone and do your
laundry, when it's under 4 feet of water?
MOst natural disasters will disrupt modern communications for at
least a short period of time. When that happens, it's good to have
a "plan B".
