Tom, et al,
My church chatered an Explorer Post just for ht e reason you mention,
i.e. to accomodate those 14+ girls who wanted to do the kind of
challenging activities the Boy Scout Troop was doing. All went very
well with the youth, although we had constant problems getting an
adult female to go on backpacking trip.

However, your comment that the 14 year old girl "can be an Explorer
in any Post she wants" is, I think, an error. It is my understanding that
it is up to the Chartered Partner to determine whether or not its Post
is to be coed. Some are and some are'nt.

Question: Its been a while since I've seen the Explorer Youth membership
application.... does it not require a parent/guardian signature to join?
