Philmont - a dream come true

In two weeks I will be realizing a seven year dream....taking a group of
scouts to Philmont. Although I am an eagle scout, I never was able to go as
a youth so this will be my first time. We will be arriving on June 17th and
will be doing itinerary 19 which takes us into the Valle Vidal area. I
would enjoy receiving any "wisdom" from other scouters who have been to
Philmont, especially those who have hiked in the Valle Vidal area north of
the ranch. Our crew is fairly experienced, having backpacked in Tennessee
and Arkansaw. We also participated in the High Knoll program at the Blue
Ridge Scout Reservation in VA. I have been off the list for 5 months so
hope Philmont hasn't been recently discussed.
