Fall service project

Hi Everyone,
I am a Brownie Troop leader from Cape Cod, MA. I am working on a project
to help fill the Wish-Lists animal shelters have all over the country.
How? By asking if troops/groups from all over the country will join with
us! Find out what your local shelter needs, it's usually basic things
easy to ontain, and put out the word you would like donations of these
items.
On October 18th 1997 all participants will bring these items to their
own local shelters. All groups/troops that join us on this project will
have their group name and # posted on the WWW. We will also post the
results of what all the participants collected as a whole. It's not a
contest, but a way of showing the children how much their efforts
contribute to the big picture. We have coincided this date with Project
America's Community Service Day (when an expected 60,000 people will be
volunteering in some way) and we also have the help of Project America's
Coordinators who help any one who wishes it assistance with planning,
recruiting more volunteers in your area and help with publicizing work
your doing and working with the media fo more community support and
involvement.
