If you haven't already, you may want to consider using a computer-based
racing manager, like RaceManager, from dbfMIFCO (adversised in
Scouting). Using double-elimination scoring, it was taking our pack
upwards of 4 hours on a 3-lane track to do a derby for 40-50 cubs. With
the new setup, we're now doing 80-90 cubs in about 2 hours, with each
cub racing in 6 heats! You may still need a new track, but you will get
a much better race IMHO with a computerized race setup.
