Hi to the List!

Last Thursday evening, Orange County Council (Calif) held its Council
Awards Dinner.

The council honored 26 individuals with Silver Beavers. I was fortunate
to be one of them. I am deeply honored and truly humbled by this
award. As I read the Scouter's Biographys for the Silver Beaver
receipients, I find that I am among a group of very active and dedicated
Scouters that were selected for this award.

The evening was not all Silver Beavers either. The Council was awarded
Quality Council for 1996; my district, Saddleback, was one of eight
which received Quality District for 1996 (the council has a total of 11
districts), and my troop, Troop 1602, received the Founders Award for
1996. What an evening!!

In 1996, Orange County Council's professionals and over 11,000 Scouters
served over 96,000 youth!

Yours in Scouting,

Ray Klaus
