Jim Peterson suggested "Re-inacting B-P's First Brownsea
Island Camp". Funny that you should mention that. The Channel
District, Transatlantic Council will hold it's 1997 Spring Camporee AT
Brownsea Island in Poole Harbor in April 1997. August 1997 is the
Ninetieth Anniversary of that first Camp. The site is under the
control of English Heritage, and facilities are primitive. Our
camporee will be low impact back-packing, etc. The local OA Chapter,
under the leadership of Evan Sommerfield, our Eagle Chapter Chief, has
volunteered, in the spirit of cheerful service to arrange the very
difficult logistics. I will keep you advised of the planning
progress, and will of course, provide a detailed report After The
=46act, should there be any demonstrated interest.
Yours in Scouting,
Dick Sullivan, B.S.A. ADC-London=20
