I've been largely responsible for pinewood for the last six years (and,
BTW, I hate the pinewood derby). Our pack spends approximately $5.00/boy,
once one figures in the cost of trophies, medals, patches, and
certificates. (and, of course, the cars, tack repairs, etc).
I realized last night that if we dumped the patches, and gave medals for
our category awards, we could send every boy home with a medal.
I am an idiot. I should have proposed it six years ago.
