committee members training

Do members of the pack committee without a specific title have to have
basic training?

here's some background behind my question

Our current pack committee chairman will step down in may, in attempt to
make the job easier on the next chairman, we want to delegate some of the
responsibities to pack committee members, which are really parent
volunteers, but need to be registers lead
ers as they are representing the pack.

possible jobs for the pack committee members are:

Designated caller (will call all leaders with messages)
Food coordinator (will handle food arrangements for pack meetings)
award(boys) purchaser (will go to council office and get awards)
award(events) purchaser (will arrange event awards)
fund raiser controller (will coordinate fund raisers)
fund raiser managers (ideally one for each fund raiser)
roundtable representative (will go to roundtable and bring back ideas)

additionally each event (pinewood, raingutter, fishing, bike, etc) should
have a person on that events committee that is from the pack committee to
be a liaison.

This will spread out a lot of the responsibility among the parents.

Ideally each of these positions need to be defined more.

Do all of these people need training?

I thing some of them do, but alot of them don't, and I think it would be
easier to get people to volunteer for these positions if we didn't REQUIRE
training as a part of job.

I think if they are serious about it, once they get involved, they will get
the training, but that would be later.

I think involved parents (even a little involved) make for better scouts.

Thanks for your thoughs on this subject.
