An New Eagle in flight from Lima New York.

Hello,

If I may take a moment of your time, to brag a little as a Scoutmaster.

Last month, Alex Carpenter, one of our very active Life scouts,
successfully passed his Eagle Board of Review! Alex has been with our
"revitalized" troop since it was started back up 7 years ago. He has
held many positions of responsibility, QM, Troop Guide, SPL, and over
all Scoutmaster nudge :-)

It has been a busy year for Alex, he is very active in school, and
in scouts. His Eagle project consisted of reclaiming an old town
cemetery from the "wilderness". On his project he supervised the
Troop, a number of our Cubs, members of the Rotary (our Charger Org.),
town maintenance crew, and assorted folks that ranged from a visiting
scout, to a state assembly member. The progress went far beyond our
expectations and included the complete perimeter and the partial
restoration of the "storage building".

The BOR went well, our CC and Advancement Chair, Alex's parents,
were on the "other" side of the table this time, and I think that they
were more nervous than Alex. We had two Reps from our Council, along
with our COR on the BOR. Alex was very "calm, cool, and collected".

This is our, (the new troop leadership) Second Eagle scout, and we
have a even more Life scouts that are seeing that the Eagle trail is
reachable.

We have finally been able to schedule Alex's Eagle court for the
first of March. All of my co-Scouts-L members are invited to attend if
you are in the area. I have talked with our CC, Alex's dad, and he has been
describing Alex's reaction to the various planing "things" that are
needed for the COH as: A "dazed look" followed by the exclamation "What!".

If any of you would like to send Alex and/or his Dad, Steve Carpenter,
and e-mail letter they are reachable at the following addresses:

Alex Carpenter, (New Eagle): Amish.Al@bbs.neonexus.com
Steve Carpenter, (CC, Dad) : Greatzog@aol.com

Thanks for your time,

YiS
