Robert:
1. Make sure that your copy of Win95 does not require win3.1 to be
installed. The upgrade version requires that win3.1 or wfwg3.11 be
installed. If you can bypass the win3.1 step, then do so.
2. If you have a second hard drive, zip the entire copy of C: to the
second drive, paths included, before you start. Always nice to have a
point of recovery; and there will always be some one file you need off
that old system. Otherwise, make a tape backup. Yeah, I know, borrow
one and spend $40 for tapes. Consider it a cheap antacid.
3. Once win95 is installed: if it works, then everything is wonderful;
if not, then there are no decent tools do repair or maintain Win95 and
you may be in the position of having to re-format and restart. Keep
good backups. There is a fair chance you will get to run the
installation repeatedly.
Good luck,
Bob Nix

I am reformatting and reloading my hard drive "Next Year". I have DOS
6.22, Windows 3.11 and Windows 95.
Does anyone know of a disadvantage or advantage of not reloading Windows
3.11, before Win95.
I have to load DOS to load Windows 95.
Thank You
Robert Carswell
