Re: Trailer Insurance

Best check with your insurance agent. Most vehicle insurance covers
towing a trailer for liability if it damages someone else's property the
same as your vehicle. However, that is where it stops. You will need
insurance on the trailer itself for any loss. Same goes for the
contents, if you want to insure them. Most auto policies can add the
trailer for an additional fee. You need to check the policy and the laws
of your state. Mileage may vary with location and company. Also, beware
- some auto policies may exclude trailers from liability coverage. If
you have several people pulling the trailer, be sure each of the policies
covers the liability.
