Kathleen,
Last year, we hosted a 19-year old from Belgium for a weekend. I
must say that this lad WAS enthralled by what most American kids take
for granted: logo'ed-hats, t-shirts, jerseys, Pop-Tarts, boxed
cereals, .... While he wasn't much into the sports scene, he did
like corporate logos.
Aside from the merchandise, he was most grateful for a place to
stay, a warm home, a home-cooked meal, and someone to talk to. This
was our first time hosting a foreign student, and well-worth the
effort. Very rewarding! Enjoy them.
