Lets get real here, people.
Unless the usage of the Scout (Boy or Girl) uniform is in a
derogatory context, I'd personally welcome the display.
Let's face it, don't we have enough trouble getting the boys
and girls to wear any, even slight, indication that they are
in scouts? Doesn't the display of the uniform in Seventeen,
or any other popular medium, help us remove just a little of
the stigma. Let's face it, Coca-Cola PAYS millions just to
have their trademark included in five seconds of a movie.
Doesn't the use of our uniform in any medium kids have access
to, benefit us. Let's go for billboards, print ads, movies,
magazines, sales catalogs, record jackets, etc. We don't
even need to get a royalty for use, the display of the uniform
all over, might even spark a trend for it to be chic to be a
scout.
Trademark Violation? Heck NO! I call it free advertising!
(Don't anyone bite my head off with National official policy,
this is my opinion, and if I was National, I'd be looking for
any and every opportunity to display scouting).
