Last I read or heard at training was that there is no limit or
distiction made in BSA policy about Fathers who meet the merit badge
registration requirements.
!!Please advise if this has changed or I got it wrong!!
Under all circumstances common sense should prevail, and careful
attention to the appearance of propriety is the best protection for the
honorable:-]]
These may be weak attempts at homilies, but the issue comes up so often
there must be a real concern when a Scout is signed off by his Dad on a
lot of merit badges.
Too often we go for a tangible goal (advancment) and forget the
intangibles (personal growth, introduction to our community leaders and
enrichment) that the program is peppered with. But don't fail to
support the super-star who is fully benefitting from the normal program
while going the extra mile at home.
