PTA and recharter

This is a problem we have discussed at our District Comittee meetings.
Apparently National PTA feels that chartering a BSA unit exposes the
chartering organization to tertiary liability claims (i.e. somebody might sue
them). You might want to talk with your Unit Commissioner or soemone at your
Council. Our Council has a very nice letter explaining the situation and using
the FACTS about BSAs insurance coverage to settle this problem. In fact, one of
our districts units that was about to lose a PTA chapter as its charter org
used the letter to turn the situation around and retain them as charter org.
