You should have spoken up at the meeting about not being consulted. The CC
may have lacked experience in working with a committee, but this decision
process without including those affected should be discussed at the next
committee meeting. It sounds like you are commited to staying, but someone
else might have just quit. It certainly was inconsiderate, at the least, to
assume that you would not object to being a lone DL and that you should have
no trouble finding a place to meet. Apparently the CC also ignored the fact
that there may have been plans made, material bought, etc., for the existing
den.
When I was CM, I felt strongly that the DL knew the boys best and should be
a part of any decision in grouping them into dens. An arbitrary decision
about grouping boys could anger some parents or cause a boy to quit. That is
why the committee exists, to share ideas to strenghten the program.
