Pack Problems - Update II

A.A.M. (lish@ACCESS.MOUNTAIN.NET)
Thu, 14 Nov 1996 22:34:51 -0500

Tonight was our weekly Den Meeting at the Church. I really don't know
how things are going to get straightened out. The CM had told me she was
going to come around and talk to all the dens tonight about behaviour.
She did not. I waited after my Den Meeting to talk to her. I told my
boys in our meeting about my phone conversation with the Principal, that
I expect better behaviour, and that at the next Den Meeting we will be
writing letters of Apology. No one gave me any back talk. While I was
waiting outside the CM's room she informed them that *I* said they were
the worst group, of course, they all turn to look at me. I promptly
corrected her and said that the Principal had said that BUT that I had
talked to my boys, informed them of the bad behaviour situation and that
we'd be writing apology letters. I do NOT think she'll be doing it with
her group. She proceeded to tell them they could absolutely not leave
the room and that when they did it had to be with their parent to take
them home. Some of her boys parents were present and they started to
leave and her son and the ACM's sons were the first to shove out the door
and go running down the hall of the church. I was just dumbfounded.
They didn't hear a word of what she said. Not a word. I guess I'll know
after the next Committee Meeting if any other apology letters will go to
the principal and also IF there will be any replacement of damaged toys
or service project for the school. I feel all need to be done. I think
talking to her is almost as bad as talking to her son. She just doesn't
care. My assistant and I are in charge of setup of the Pack Meeting
Chairs and etc next Thursday for the Pack Meeting. They'll be surprised
to come in and find that the chairs are going to be sectioned off by
den. I'm determined that anything I'm involved in is going to start
_forcing_ some semblance of order. We'll see eh?

I guess the next post will be next Thursday after the Pack Meeting.
Cross you fingers all you well wishers. I honestly believe I need every
spare prayer you have out there.
