Forty years ago my welding instructor told us that burning galvanized steel
was very dangerous, and cautioned us against it (He was talking about using a
cutting torch.). Zinc oxide fumes are poisonous!
I know a couple of troops that reqularly cook turkey in the old standard box
ovens. It works well, and you don't have to store them covered with cooking
oil. Note that you do not need a bottom on the box, you do it the same way
that was described for the can.
