Lent my old Webelos Book to one of my ASMs who was helping out with
Webelos Leader Training, so this may be subject to the usual fogginess
in my brain or an extra dose from the backpack trip this weekend.
But, as I remember it, the Webelos Scout needs to visit a troop meeting
AND an outdoor troop activity, which could be camping, hiking, or even,
as we did last month with the Webelos Scouts from Pack 30, orienteering.
We try to tie the two together, such as training in orienteering before
the meet, or planning menus with the patrols before a campout. The key
thing we try to impress on the Webelos is that the activities are planned
and run by the Boy Scouts themselves.
