NEW ? on WB critters & patrolls

While I think it some how MAY help to create and/or maintain
some continuity with the past, to have "standard" patroll critters,
there is also soemthing positive about creating YOU OWN unique
patroll identity!
With out getting into my OWN opinions, and/or 25 cents worth,
and since there are those on the list from countries that create
there OWN patroll names, I am wondering what the general feeling
is WOSM wide? Standard list of patrolls to maintain continuity
and traditions for former patroll members, or NEW unique names
that you can create, and take ownership for?
