It's been 20 years!

Last weekend I celebrated my 20th anniversary as Scoutmaster of Troop 33
at a weekend Patrol Leaders' Retreat. Every year on the first weekend of
November we have an annual program planning weekend and junior leader
training at the Patrol Leader's Retreat.
My celebration included a large decorated anniversary cake for Saturday
night's dessert. The boys cut me a H-U-G-E piece of cake with a ton of
frosting shaped like flowers. They even saved another VERY LARGE piece
for me to enjoy for breakfast on Sunday (which I did). It was good too!
At the beginning of November 1976 I had agreed to keep the troop going
until they could find a permanent Scoutmaster. I'm still waiting for them
to find someone!
At our recent Court of Honor I mentioned my upcoming anniversary and that
I have been very patiently waiting for them to find a permanent
Scoutmaster. One of the committee members shouted from the audience that
they are still looking. I said OK, but if in 20 more years they still
haven't found anyone, I'm walking. My patience has it's limits.
BTW, we have 6 members of that committee from 20 years ago still active
with the troop (7 scouters including me). So maybe they are still looking.
I'm e-mailing each of you a piece of my anniversary cake. Enjoy.
