Hi all,
A couple of other tidbits about noted politicians in the scouts:
Regarding FDR, I have a coffee-table book of pictures of the first
national jamboree, held in Washington DC in I believe 1937. There is a
picture of FDR in the Oval Office with a delegation of scouts and
scouters, and FDR is wearing his Silver Buffalo around his neck. I
believe the Silver Buffalo is presented to all Presidents; it is an
exceedingly rare award.
Also, Robert McNamara's recently pubvlished book contains a picture of
him wearing his Eagle medal. Furthermore, House minority leader Dick
Gephart is an Eagle scout.
