Neils and all,
Oren's Eagle project consisted of refurbishing the lower windows of a
Methodist church in Alexandria, VA, and stripping and repainting a large
tool shed behind same church. The windows were in serious
disrepair--there were over 300 individual panes; the windows all needed
recaulking and painting. This was very laborious work. The shed, made
of sheets of galvanized metal with a rolled asphalt roof, was in very
sirious disrepair. The old paint on it had to be stripped off, and then
the shed was repainted. This work took over 100 hours of actual labor,
plus 15 or so more in planning, acquiring materials, lining up help,
etc.
Neils' suggestion about describing Eagle projects is an excellent one, I
think. Chuck Bramlet ran a list last year of projects he had seen or
signed off on, and I gave this to my next prospective Eagle, who wants to
get rolling on his project right away.
Anyway, that's what Oren did; it was a solid, well done project, as the
minister and I weill attest.
