I have read about some waterproofing that is used on clothing. I forget
the name at this time, but if anyone is interested, I will look
it up. All you need to do is empty the package into the washer machine
and run the regular cycle. The tent (or clothing) will come out
waterproofed. You will still have to seal the seams though.
With all considered, if the tent is ruined after 20 years, consider
yourself lucky. Usually by 10 years it is time for a new tent, back,
etc... Treat yourself to a new tent. The timberlines are exactly the
same they were 20 years ago, but there are even better tents out there
now.
