Well, we had the Olympics in town, and still not a lot of reference material
here...
But, I've got an opening ceremony, and a song. I hope that will do.
Athenian Oath
We will try hard not to bring disgrace on this our community,
by being dishonest and cowardly. We will fight for the ideals
and worthwhile things of the community both alone and with our Friends.
We will respect and obey its laws, and will do our best to
increase the sense of community duty among our own Families.
Thus in all these ways we will keep our community better and
more beautiful than it was when given to us.
(Not a bad oath, and still quite relevant!)
Song!!!
Olympic Games
(sung to the tune O Christmas Tree)
Olympic Games, Olympic Games,
How I love Olympic Games.
Olympic Games, Olympic Games,
All do their best, at ancient games.
All are fair and fair is square,
Keep body strong and your mind bright.
Sportsmanship, oh what a delight,
How I love Olympic Games.
Olympic Games, Olympic Games,
All do their best, at Ancient games.
Hope it helps!
