Scout Names on Websites?

>Boys Life magazine features articles about boys (using first and last
>names with photos). Over 1 million issues go out each month with many

One big difference: When Boys' Life (or any other magazine) publishes
pictures, etc. they obtain a signed and notarized release form granting
permission to publish the picture. I would suggest obtaining written
permission from the boys' parents before publishing the boys' full names
on a web page (or anywhere else). I put up a page of this past year's
Pinewood Derby winners (first name and last initial) on our pack home page
(http://pages.prodigy.com/hamilton/pack615.htm). I told the parents I
would _not_ publish last names and, if anyone was uncomfortable with
having their son's first name on the list, I would remove it. No one
objected to first names and everyone agreed to the arrangement.

Your mileage may vary...
