Roundtable Corner

Scouters:

As part of our district roundtable program each year we conduct "roundtable
corner". Our participants are divided into working groups of 4-6 scouters
and given unit problems to solve (or at least consider a solution for). The
problems may deal with adult leaders, troop committee, scouters, etc. For
example, you are on your way to summer camp with scouts in your vehicle and
you are stopped for speeding. How would you deal with the immediate
situation with the scouts in the vehicle and what would you do at summer
camp once your actions spread amoungest the troop?

I would appreciate any real life problems to consider for our corner this
scouting year. If you have a problem you have encountered (and maybe
solved) I would appreciate hearing from you. Please post to me directly (
do not use Scouts-L).

We always have two groups working on the same set of problems and try to
have five to six problem sets of 3-4 problems each. During our summary
session it is really neat to hear from the groups and compare solutions. In
most cases the groups are in agreement on the course of action to be taken.

Thanking you in advance....
